Surabaya, June 20, 2024 – In order to enrich students’ knowledge and experience, Great Crystal School and Course Center held an educational Great Adventure to Surabaya Post Office. This activity was attended by students from various levels, namely Primary and Secondary with the aim of providing direct insight into the process of sending letters and , as well packages as the importance of postal services in everyday life.
The activity began at 09.00 WIB, when the students and accompanying teachers arrived at the Surabaya Post Office. They were warmly welcomed by post office staff who were ready to provide explanations and educational tours inside the post office building. The students seemed enthusiastic about participating in this activity, which began with a brief explanation of the history and function of the Post Office.
During the tour, the students were invited to see various parts of the Post Office, such as the mail and package reception section, sorting process, and delivery room. They also had the opportunity to witness the mail sorting process using an automatic sorting machine. In addition, the students were given an explanation of the various types of postal services, such as express mail, express mail, and international postal services.
One of the most interesting moments for the students was when they were invited to practice directly sticking stamps and sending letters. Each student was given a postcard that had been provided by the school, and they were taught how to write the address, paste the stamps, and put the letter into the post box. This activity not only provided practical experience, but also practiced writing skills and introduced the culture of sending letters, which is becoming less common in this digital era.
Mr. Albert, one of the accompanying teachers, revealed that this activity was very beneficial for the students. “Through this Great Adventure, children can learn in a fun and hands-on way. They can see for themselves how the process of sending letters and packages takes place, and understand the importance of postal services in our daily lives,” he said.
This Great Adventure to Surabaya Post Office is part of Great Crystal School and Course Center’s out-of-class education program that aims to provide a different and fun learning experience for students. With activities like this, it is hoped that students can better understand the material taught in class and apply it in everyday life.
The activity ended at 11:00 am, and the students returned to school with a lot of new knowledge and unforgettable experiences. This Great Adventure is one of the moments that students look forward to, and is expected to be a motivation for them to continue learning and exploring new things around them.
